Not Me
If not you then who?
Maybe you're a kid who just doesn't think any of this applies. But if you don't get involved who will? A little time each week doesn't just help somebody else, it does something for you too. You learn to lead, you learn to be part of a team, you find out what jobs you like to do, and you build your community. If you invest enough time, you even become eligible for a college scholarship.
Adults
Any adult concerned with supporting youth and community organizations in Georgetown County is welcomed as a volunteer. Maybe it all sounds good but you don't have time to volunteer. You can contribute dollars instead of time. Though SOS is supported through local and national grants, private donations are an important source of funding. We desperately seek annual funding for programs and on-going operational needs.
Your tax-deductible contribution goes towards:
- College scholarships
- Grants for service projects
- Programs and materials
- Office operating costs
How your money helps
- $2 - One lanyard for volunteers who complete their first event
- $3 - Cost for one safety vest for youth volunteers
- $5 - One T-shirt for youth volunteer completing 10 hours of service
- $125 - Cost of one monthly mailing
- $260 - Insurance for one month
- $500 - Leadership training workshop for 30 Youth Council Members
- $1500 - One college scholarship
